STEPS: 5 solidarity initiatives by designers to support the fight against COVID-19

The magazine Étapes highlights on its site solidarity projects of designers, and among other things highlights the Rebond project.

Enjoy the reading!

By reducing our capacity for movement and therefore for action, containment poses an ethical question that is touching many of us. While a large part of the population is sheltered, others (healthcare workers, their families, the homeless people ...) are suffering the effects of this crisis in a brutal way. How can we help them in this context? For designers, artists and creatives of all stripes, the answer has been obvious: use their creativity to offer solidarity initiatives. Thanks to the support fund set up by the Fondation de France - Hôpitaux de Paris, the APHP, the Institut Pasteur, the Fondation de France, but also a whole host of citizen associations helping victims or the most deprived, the creatives have found a vector to transform their know-how into a capacity for action and support in the fight against COVID-19. We have selected five initiatives here.

We Give Collab

Marine de Bouchony and Camille de Laurens from studio M / B., Aude Adrien and Faustine Badrichani had the great idea of launching solidarity auctions for the benefit of daycare and hospital staff. They bring together every week on the Instagram page @We_give_collab, superb lots offered by dozens of brands and artists, ranging from the pair of slippers to designer furniture, swimsuits or illustrations, and even subscriptions steps:! It is therefore easy to find the rare pearl, and at the same time, to participate in the #Protegetonsoignant prize pool.

Visit the We Give Collab Instagram page and participate in the auction.

Solidarity balls

Initiated by the graphic design studio The Feebles, “les ballons solidaires” is the result of the collaboration between the studio and the Rebond ball brand, supported by the Blackmeal studio and the Swiss singer Narcisse. The idea is simple: to produce a rugby ball and a soccer ball whose purchases are donated directly to the Foundation des Hôpitaux de Paris - Hôpitaux de France. Thanks to these colourful balls, first aid equipment will be purchased and support for healthcare workers, patients and their families will be provided.

See the project on Ulule and participate in the prize pool.

Health security cards (french equivalent of NHS)

We introduced you to the project a short while ago in an interview with Clémence Burgot and Adrien Salamon from the Panopli studio. Through Les Cartes Vitales, they have invited a number of artists and illustrators to take over postcards in order to alleviate the isolation of confinement by spreading positive messages and drawings. Agathe Singer, Soledad, Agathe Sorlet, Jean Jullien, Malika Favre, Louise Bourgoin, Katherine Pancol, Jim Kylam, Bérénice Milon, Jean André, Violente Viande, Ivan Le Pays, Pablo Dalas, Adrien Ghenassia, Alexandra De Assunçao, La Vie Moderne, Les Canailles and Lorraine Sorlet took part in the operation, with 100% of profits going to the "Tous unis contre le virus" fund, supported by the Fondation de France, AP-HP and Institut Pasteur.

You can purchase a « Carte Vitale » by going to the Ulule page of the project.

A 100% Thank you t-shirt

The idea was born from a few friends, at the very beginning of the health crisis, to make t-shirts with funny messages to « get by, without getting out », their slogan. Thanks to the TRIAAANGLES t-shirt brand, the help of designers Nastasia Fourcade and Marie Clémentine Vernet, the group of friends were able to take action and allow everyone to keep a positive memory in the face of this unprecedented situation. . On the Ulule project page, you can find different models. You then decide to offer them to the nursing staff or to keep them for yourself !

The Escapes

In these difficult times, the homeless are suffering more than usual. Aid associations are obviously still in action but their capacities are diminished, especially in disaster areas where COVID-19 is rife more than elsewhere. Three Strasbourg women, members of the Le Wagon Souk association, have decided to help the most disadvantaged through the "Les Échappées" project. Illustrators Léontine, Organe and Missy have joined forces to create 6 postcards, each different but part of a whole, a beautiful illustration of the idea of solidarity.
