The first game ball 100% made in France

Bounce x Antoine Corbineau

sold out

A sports, artistic, economic and solidarity project.

The very first 100% Made in France rugby ball enters the field.

After PSG, Bayern Munich and the FFF, Rebond announces its collaboration with... Les Belettes Nantes Touch Rugby! Produced at the request of the Loire club, this ball made in France developed by Rebond teams mixes art and technique, taking up all challenges. Presented as a design object thanks to the work of artist Antoine Corbineau, it is nonetheless a technical sports equipment that now accompanies the Nantes players on the field.

Produced in limited series, it is the very first rugby ball 100% made in France, match quality, size 4 with a special Touch Rugby grip.

By donating a part of its revenues to the 1% For The Planet organisation, Rebond places this local initiative at the heart of a genuine economic and solidarity-based project.

New challenges for Touch Rugby

The ambitions of the Nantes club to promote the local economy.

In the spring of 2020, when Covid is stopping the practice of touch rugby, the Belettes Touch Rugby club in St Herblain (near Nantes) is putting its free time to good use. Its challenge: stop buying foreign balls and start producing French equipment.

The Touch Rugby sector being poorly structured, the majority of clubs buy their balls from English suppliers, due to the lack of a distributor in the euro zone and a total absence of production in Europe.

By joining forces with Rebond, the club and its 55 members have embarked on the design of a new ball, the result of a more virtuous production (working conditions and materials used), and 100% made in France.

"We wanted to produce locally, to promote French know-how, but also to produce in an ethical and eco-responsible way. Sébastien Dacher, president of the club for 10 years.

A match ball 100% made in Loire Atlantique

An eco-responsible balloon, entirely hand-made 20 minutes from Nantes.

Rebond developed this ball alongside Bourgeois & Cie, in Gétigné, Loire Atlantique. Located 20 minutes from Nantes, these shoe specialists have had the opportunity to work on several projects in collaboration with Rebond, such as the upcycled PSG jersey ball or the graphic ball for the FFF, developing a new workshop dedicated to ball production.

"I thought it would be easier. We have worked on balls for PSG, Bayern Munich and the Barbarians. But this time we had to find different products, because the grip of the ball is specific to touch rugby. It was a great challenge for us to use environmentally friendly materials and inks. Simon Mutschler, Director of Rebond.

The result: the Belettes Nantes Touch Rugby ball is the first Touch Rugby ball 100% made in France, entirely hand-made, which meets competition standards, the result of 2 hours of assembly in the workshop. Out of 100 pieces produced, 25 bear the club's logo and are intended for player training. The rest of the production, which bears the Rebond logo (and does not display the club logo), is for sale on the Rebond website. The profits from this operation are entirely donated to the organisation "1% For The Planet", which works for sustainable development by financing responsible companies.

A ball as artistic as it is technical

A Nantes-inspired design by local artist Antoine Corbineau.

"Carte blanche". This is what the Nantes artist Antoine Corbineau was told when the St Herblain Touch Rugby club and Rebond asked him to take part in the project.

It was without hesitation that he launched into the creation of this balloon with a pure design inspired by the city of Nantes, illustrating the Loire, the Lu tower, the elephant (the city's totem), and the Buren rings.

Antoine Corbineau, known for his fun, complex and colourful graphics, has made the Touch Rugby ball into a decorative object for the general public, giving visibility to this sport that is less well known than classic rugby.
